Here are some more easy ways to support us:
Donate your bottles and cans to RAPS
We've set up accounts at the Blundell Return It Centre, located at the Blundell Shopping Centre (between Shoppers Drug Mart and the liquor store), at No. 2 and Blundell Rd., and the Ironwood Return It Centre on No. 5 Rd. It's a great way to recycle while helping us care for the animals.
Just take your empty bottles and cans to that store and, before the cashier rings up your returns, tell him/her that the proceeds will be going to Richmond Animal Protection Society. When the cashier gives you a receipt, write RAPS on the back along with your own name and telephone number. Then, return the receipt to the cashier. It's that easy!
Give "Points for Pets" and Save-On Foods
You can help RAPS by donating your Save-On Points at the Ironwood Save-On Foods store (11666 Steveston Hwy., Richmond). While you are making your purchase, just tell the cashier to credit the RAPS account.
For each 1,000 points donated to charity, Save-On-More provides $1 plus a matching $1 to total $2. For example, if 100 people each give 1,000 points to a charity that would result in a donation of $200 to the charity. Simply advise any cashier that you would like to make a contribution. HBC Rewards Program
You can support the Richmond Animal Protection Society by donating your HBC Rewards points to the RAPS HBC community account. To do this, enroll in the HBC Rewards Community Program online:
Click on "Donate to an existing community"
Click on "Search for a Community" and enter the RAP Society's Public ID number (5276485)
This will link your HBC Rewards account to the RAPS community account. The RAPS community account number is used only when redeeming points for items relating to the shelter. You can choose the percentage of points you wish to donate as well as specify a range of dates for the donation to take place.
Husky Community Rebate Program
Another way you can support the Richmond Animal Protection Society is by becoming a member of the RAPS Husky Community Rebate Program. Every time a member of the program makes an eligible* purchase at participating Husky and Mohawk gas stations, convenience stores, or Husky House Restaurants, and asks the attendant to swipe the card through the card-reader, Husky rebates 2% of the purchases to the Richmond Animal Protection Society. Recycle your unwanted vehicle
Did you know that you can support RAPS by recycling, and reduce your income tax, too? You can help support us by donating your unwanted car, van, or truck to the Charity Car Program, sponsored by A-Part Auto Wrecking Ltd., who will recycle your old vehicles and convert them into cash donations. Just name Richmond Animal Protection Society as the recipient.
