Support Us Running shelters like ours is a very costly endeavour. For the City Animal Shelter and our cat sanctuary combined, we need to fundraise around $500,000 per year. Most of the animals arrive unfixed and without basic veterinary care such as vaccines, deworming and other parasite treatments. Our current veterinary expenses average $13,000 per month! Our thrift store revenue and municipal contract cover almost 100% of our administrative costs. When you donate to RAPS, you can be assured that your donations will be used to directly benefit the animals. Donations
If you wish to make a donation, you are welcome to drop by the shelter or mail your donation to us at: Richmond Animal Protection Society If you donate to the United Way, you can request that your donation be directed to the Richmond Animal Protection Society, and you can make a tax-deductible donation as a birthday gift or in lieu of flowers as a memorial tribute. You can make your donation in memory of a beloved pet, and you can also remember the Richmond Animal Protection Society in your will so that the work you believe in can be carried on. Tax receipts are issued for all donations over $10. Volunteers The Richmond Animal Protection Society always needs new volunteers. If you can dedicate just a few hours of your week, we need volunteers to feed the animals, clean animal pens, do laundry or dishes, and walk dogs. We also are in need of volunteers to help out at events, Farmers' Markets, and to work on various fundraising committees and special tasks. Come meet fun people and spend time with wonderful animals! Call us at 604-275-2036 or email volunteer@rapsociety.comto arrange a time to volunteer at the shelters. To help out with events or fundraising, please email board@rapsociety.com.

Urgent! We need a Commercial Washer and Dryer donated right away. Sponsorship RAPS has a sponsorship program designed to help provide the cats at the sanctuary with loving care. For $15 per month, you can help to ensure that one of our precious cats is well-nourished. As a sponsor, you will receive a photo of your cat and, if you live in our area, are welcome to visit your kitty as often as you'd like. The cats all need love and attention, and always appreciate company. For more information on sponsorship, please contact Janice Lambert at 604-271-7322.
RAPS Thrift Store Our sanctuary is supported by our thrift store which is located at Unit 140-8260 Granville Avenue in Richmond, just east of No. 3 Road. We take everything - tools, furniture, clothing, etc. If you have large articles to donate and need them to be picked up, please call 604-244-7529. Our store hours are 10AM to 5:30PM Monday to Saturday. Jake and Daisey's Raw Pet Food
In December 2007 RAPS decided to switch the diet of the dogs at the Richmond Animal Shelter. This decision was made based on research about raw food done by Christine, Sonya and Carol, but was also based on how much the dogs LOVED the food! We're proud to say that all the dogs at RAPS have sleek, shiny coats and we believe that in general they are happier. We are also grateful to Jake & Daisey's for regularly donating raw bones to our shelter. You can help the shelter by buying Jake & Daisey's Gift Certificates for our shelter dogs:

The perfect gift for you or your pet-loving friends! Elizabeth Wood, talented pet artist, will create a 9" x 12" pencil portrait of your pets from a digital or regular photograph. The cost is only $30 for a single pet, or $50 for a group portrait of two or more pets. To order your pet portrait, send Liz an email, or visit her online Pet Portrait gallery. The artist donates all profits to RAPS.
Recycle Your Unwanted Vehicle Did you know that you can support RAPS by recycling, and reduce your income tax, too? You can help support us by donating your unwanted car, van, or truck to the Charity Car Program, sponsored by A-Part Auto Wrecking Ltd., who will recycle your old vehicles and convert them into cash donations. Just name Richmond Animal Protection Society as the recipient. To donate your car or for more information, contact the Charity Car Program at 604-321-2277. Richmond Animal Protection Society Apparel
