Cookie is a seven year old Rottweiler cross that spent her entire life in a backyard. She was surrendered to RAPS because the owner tied her up on a prong collar all day long. When Cookie first arrived at RAPS she was fearful

and sad. She was at the RAPS City Shelter for eight months without a single soul showing interest in her.  Until one day a teenage girl named Alena came into our shelter and fell in love with her. Alena didn't care that Cookie was an old dog, she just knew that Cookie was meant for her. For three months the entire family came to the shelter every Saturday to visit and walk Cookie while they waited for their house to be sold. Their new home was purchased just for Cookie, complete with a big backyard for her to run around in! Cookie will never be chained up again and she will spend the rest of her days in Alena's loving arms. She is a true rescue story and the staff and volunteers at RAPS could not be happier.

Adoption Profile:  Emma the Tabby

Emma is a lovely gray and white tabby with an appetite for attention! She loves to greet new people by pushing herself up on the cage to get as much love as she can! She would much prefer to stay in her cage then socialize with the other cats in the main room. But when it comes to people she does whatever it takes to catch your eye! She would love to meet some new people so come say ’hello’ to Emma the Tabby .

Adoption Profile:  Beautiful  Mia

Mia is a spunky 10 month old puppy. She is quite dog friendly if properly introduced. She has been enrolled in our obedience classes here at RAPS. According to our master trainers, she is doing very well! She knows sit, down, heel and stay. She loves to play fetch and romp with our friendly dogs here at the RAPS City Shelter. Come take a look at beautiful Mia!

Like  many animal rescue organizations, RAPS cares for homeless animals and endeavors to find them homes. However, RAPS approaches this challenge differently than other organizations. RAPS runs its facilities as strict no-kill animal shelters.   Every  single animal, regardless of medical need, is cared for until the right home is found.  Animals are often surrendered to local shelters due to behavioural problems.  Since the best place for an animal is a safe and loving home, when possible, RAPS offers counseling on how do solve animal related problems and increase the chances an animal can stay in his or her home.

Your donation makes all the difference.  The homeless dogs, cats and rabbits at the RAPS shelters are loved, cared for and found homes because of your financial support.  We need donations to pay for medical care for homeless animals and donations to care for the special animals at the RAPS Cat Sanctuary

Jasmine used to be terrified of
humans, but she’s beginning to
discover that they're not so bad as she enjoys life at the Cat Sanctuary. Jody is an independent, feisty little girl hoping to find someone who likes to rub faces. She’s looking for a sponsor and a new home. Please
support Jody.

100% of  your donation goes to the care of animals.
